When l turn to the right at any speed, my steering has a particular spot while turing that feels like a knot in the power steering.It is smooth and normal and all of a sudden (and always at the same point) it gets very hard and jerks the wheel suddenly a bit to the right.l checked the power steering fluid and it is full.There are no weird noises.Just this weird hard spot that jerks suddenly to the right.Any thoughts?

with steering questions l would suggest you take it to a repair shop, but l think you will find it to be your steering gear (rack and pinion). but the shop should check your front-end for lose or damaged parts. hope that helps

l have had a couple of these. this can be a little time consuming.
` first inspect the intermediate steering shaft universal joints [they must move freely & have no lost motion] also the shaft must be able to slide freely up & down without binding [this movement is only an inch or two]
NOTE:you will have to disconnect this shaft from the rack to test these
items, so to avoid air bag clock spring damage lock or tie the steering wheel in the strait ahead position [shaft coupling is splined with a pinch bolt & can only go back one way] . just be sure the wheels r still in the strait ahead position upon re assembely.
if any defects r noted a NEW intermediate shaft will be required.
step 1A while shaft is disconnected from rack & steering wheel tied start engine & turn rack imput shaft by hand [you may require gripper gloves for this] & note if bind is in the rack itself if so the rack will have to be replaced with a remanufacturd one [low bid reman.racks r some times worse than the one being replaced]
2 if step one is ok reattach steering shaft to rack now loosen rack mounting bolts. start the car & slowly turn steering wheel from lock to lock noting if bind still occurs if it does stop at this exact point & snug down the rack mounting bolts. re- start the engine & repeat slow turning of the wheel, the bind should be gone & u can final tighten the mounting bolts. [note if rack mount bushings r perished they should be replaced before any adjustment is attempted]
3 if bind is still there u will have to lower the under dash panel[s] & loosen the steering column mounting bolts once again start engine & turn to exact point of bind then re-tighten all mount bolts.
at this point ur troubles should end .
be careful jacking & blocking as u can be dead only once.
if u pressure wash the aera[s] involved before hand the job wont be as tedious
