looking to buy a used late 90 is volvo because everyone tells me they last forever and are very realiable. is this true? and which model and year is the best for realibility?

If you're looking for reliability, the late '90s Volvos are not a good choice. The last decently reliable Volvo was the 940 series, which went away in the mid-'90s. The 240 series was and still is probably the most reliable of all the Volvo line. Of my thirteen volvos, my '79 242 was the reliability king and the '98 S90 l bought new was little more than a nightmare. Please do not consider a late '90s Volvo. There are better options for you.

l have a V70 (99) and l love it!!
But, l find my '67 Volvo 122S to be the most reliable Volvo ever.

No people say they are very safe not reliable. Late 90 is Volvo is are some of the most unreliable vehicles and parts on them are expensive.

Any Volvo produced from the late 90s on will last as long as ur wallet does. The engines & transmissions will last forever, but everything else on the car is pure crap. l have a '98 with 180k miles on it & the engine & transmission r still running like new, but I've replaced about everything else on the car that can be replaced (some things more than once). l have spent as much keeping the car on the road as l paid for it new. l do have two 1970s Volvos that have never had a problem.

Volvo has tried to produce high tech cars with cheap made parts & as a result has created a nightmare for the consumer. Buy a new Volvo, keep it until the warranty expires, then ditch it before u lose ur life is savings keeping it on the road.
