Volvos are only associated with old people because of their safety record. Im 28 and have had one for 3 years. There is a ton of things you can get from the dealer to improve the look and handling to just what you want. One of my favorite sites for tuning mine is http://evolvecars.com/site/index.php

Volvos are not for old people, rather they are for practical people. Of course the new ones are really not for anyone except those with fat wallets. Repair costs and replacement parts are out of control. l will take my three '60s era Volvos any day. If a 17-year-old, or his or her parents, can afford to drive a Volvo, let that be the case.

l am 17 and l drive a 2000 Volvo S40 1.9 Turbo. It is not weird at all. Just look at your friends faces when you roll up pushin' boost in that car. You can simply OWN cavaliers and civics even with stock. l have put in a Cold Air Intake to sweeten the deal a little!
Definately Not! Be proud that you own a car!

Well the s80, sometimes the s60 does depends on the color, and the wagons are soccer mom-ish. But the older models arent bad for a teen either. Had the 94' 850 turbo as a first car, it was nice reliable and fast! l now own a xc90 and my moms has the xc70 wagon.(see mom car) lol.

l do not believe so. l am 25 & l have owned two in the past; a beige '79 244GL sedan & a white '89 740GL sedan. l found them both to be great cars to drive & l would buy another one in a second ( l currently own a Nissan Pulsar). They're reliable, safe & somewhat unusual; three things that l have always looked for in cars. In the end, you're the one who is going to be driving it, no-one else. If you're happy to be behind the wheel of one, who gives a crap what anyone else thinks or says?

volvo is r for people who understand value regardless of age. l started my daughter out with a 79' 242 when she was almost 5 yrs old. we rebuilt it together into a very nice well optioned & sharp looking car, yes, the jobs given her were age appropriate & it became driveable as she got her license . it is never too young to start a driver down volvo is path, evidently ur parents care for u a great deal. she is almost out of colledge now & still loves ''her'' car.as do her friends.

A Volvo automobile is driven by intelligent people regardless of their experience.
